WHAT IS A CLOCHE?
The floral cloches I create are dried flowers – whether they are from a wedding bouquet, memorial flowers, baby shower, foraged for, or other special event, that I design and put into this glass dome covering known as a cloche. It is a great way to preserve your dried flowers that are just sitting around as a keepsake!
HOW THE PROCESS WORKS:
The process begins with me receiving your flowers, whether that is a porch drop off or you ship them to me. If your flowers are not dried and you would like me to do that for you, I will hang the flowers carefully for 30-40 days until they are dried. Some flowers are dried in silica, which can take anywhere from 7-21 days. Once dried, I very carefully dismantle your bouquet and begin to arrange the flowers into the cloche. This creative process can take hours or days - depending on the flowers and how easy they are to work with. Once it’s all put together I will clean the glass and package it up! If you are local and picking them up from me, I will give back any extra flowers you.
FAQ:
Can you make a cloche from my bouquet that is already dried?
Of course! There really isn’t a limit for how old your flowers are, as long as the flowers are still intact.
Can I choose my base?
You have the option to choose from a gold or wood base.
Do you ship?
I can absolutely ship your cloche. If you would like to know more about that process, feel free to ask in your inquiry!
How do I get my flowers to you if you aren’t local to me?
If you are local to Central Illinois, I am happy to do porch drop off and pick up’s. If you are not local, I will have you hold on to your flowers until they are dry, and then you can ship them over to me! I explain how to best prepare your flowers for shipping so we can get them here as safe as possible.
How long does the process take?
Because each bouquet or arrangement is different, the timing on creating your cloche will vary. If the flowers are fresh and I am drying them for you, I allow time for that and once they are ready I begin to dismantle the arrangement and add it into the glass! I always stay in touch and try to keep you in the loop on when to expect the finished product.
You can dry my flowers for me??
Yes! But only if you are local. If you have fresh flowers that you would like for me to dry for you, I am happy to do that. we will arrange a time for you to drop that off and then you can expect at least a 30 day drying period!
How do I pay and what is the cost?
I have a few different options for payment, and depending on what size of cloche you want the pricing will vary from $175-$400
What size cloches do you have?
I have two options for sizes. I have a small cloche that is approx. 7” high and a large cloche that is approx. 10” high. The large cloches are what the bridal bouquets are made in. The small cloches benefit best for bouquets or arrangements that have only a handful of smaller flowers (for instance, a few roses with greenery or small flowers).
How long will my flowers last in the cloche?
I can’t make promises with how long your flowers will last - simply because every flower and environment is different. I can say though that because your flowers will be protected inside of the glass and if they are not placed in direct sunlight or bumped around much, they really should last for years and years!
Can you add in anything special?
I am slightly limited to what I can add in, but I have added sentimental material like the ribbon around your bouquet or material from a loved one.
I welcome all questions and am happy to help however I can. Please don’t hesitate to reach out and ask!
